About Me

My name is Dave Bress.  I am a senior at the University of Iowa majoring in History focusing on the European colonial period (Way to go Europe... :/ ).  In my spare time, I enjoy photography--sports and documentary projects in particular.    To the left you will find the cliché self portrait. 

During those days when not in class, I am a computer guru at the University's College of Pharmacy. Throughout my career at the University, I have architected several ASP.NET web applications including the laptop checkout and departmental websites for the Instructional Technology Centers and a placement system linking job-seeking pharmacy students to potential employers. Some of my more esoteric work has involved web-enabling Microsoft Exchange and Systems Management Server operations. I don't like making things complicated, but if it's rediculously complex bordering on stupid or no one has ever really tried it, I'm your man...

The only thing I hate worse than writing about myself is reading others who have written about themselves in the third person, i.e. "Dave enjoys long walks on the beach and listening to himself talk," so I'll keep this sho...

About the Site

I tried to keep this thing simple, but it does make extensive use of the Adobe Media Gallery Flash application. Most people already have Flash installed, but if you don't, get it from Adobe. It's always a good idea to keep it updated anyway.
